Totally in Love with Amsterdam Couture
Over the last few days it became pretty clear that Fall is officially here. Thus, I was quite excited when I heard that one of my favorite Amsterdam based brands Scotch & Soda invited us to a store opening.
Unfortunately, I could not attend the store opening myself, since I was working on some projects in New York, but my lovely co-blogger Marta got a chance to get a first glimpse of the new Scotch & Soda store. And I say: it’s about time to add a little bit of “spice” to Munich’s shopping district.
On Thursday October 11, Scotch & Soda celebrated the recent opening of the first Scotch & Soda store in Munich, Germany. The new store is located on the Sendlinger Strasse in a popular shopping area in the heart of Munich. The 124 square meter store sells both Scotch & Soda for men and Maison Scotch for women and has the distinguished Scotch & Soda character, with an interior holding rich materials and special deailing. During the event, friends, local movers & shakers and press could experience this new store while enjoying fresh drinks, tasty finger food and festive music from German dj-duo Kill the Tills. Enjoy the impressions of the exclusive event in the gallery above and don’t forget to check out the new store at Sendlinger Strasse 33 in Munich.
Scotch & Soda loves to make great garments that suit every individual. They want people to love their clothes and enjoy wearing them - and that is exactly the reason why I am so hooked by this brand. Their products are of high quality, rich in detail, affordable and the designers at Scotch spare no effort or expense at detailing and fine-tuning samples, all the way to the neatly finished interior of each garment. That’s what I call true passion!
Though Scotch & Soda has been around since the 80s, the Amsterdam-based fashion brand as we know it today originates in a brave new start in 2001, when three new owners joined their broad experience and shared love for making great garments. Maison Scotch entered the market with the Spring/Summer 2010 collection and it already accounts for a large part of the company’s continuous growth.
Their products are typically informed by the best tried and tested classic and vintage styles, enriched with a wealth of inspiration from around the world - reason enough to take a closer look at the women’s clothing line. I was immediately inspired by their current fall collection and no longer cared about the ugly weather or some monster storms called Sandy.
In the gallery above you see my favorite picks:
1. CLASSIC JACKET
2. MARIE MARINE - STRAIGHT LEG - INDIGO STRETCH DENIM
3. WOOL QUALITY HAT
4. SLUB KNITTED SCARF
5. UPDATED LEATHER LAPTOP BAG
6. NEW “LA PARISIENNE” COAT WITH SCARF
7. BASIC V-NECK WITH LUREX TRIMS AND STAR SHAPED ELBOW PATCHES
8. RIB CORD SKIRT
And believe me, as soon as I am back in town, I need to stop by at the store to check out more styles.
Till then my lovely fashionistas, don’t let this ugly weather get to you - as we say in SoHo (NY) it’s simply all about DIGS: done in great style.
xoxo
