COLLECTION INSPIRATION

For her AW13 collection Vivienne Westwood was inspired by the provocative and erotically charged high fashion photography of Helmut Newton. This prolific photographer is known for his portrayals of powerful and dominating women and French actress Catherine Deneuve who had a reputation for her depictions of aloof and mysterious heroines.

High Glamour Waves and High Power Sweep

The Vivienne Westwood Red Label hair look reflected the modern glamour of a woman who appears beautiful, but strong. sensual and sultry waves fall lightly round the face of the models with long hair, contrasting with the height of the front of the hair, which sweeps back harshly at the root but dropping softly at the ends to frame one side of the face. 

Those with shorter hair were coiffed with a smooth quiff, glamorous yet androgynous. The Westwood woman is beautiful, but a force to be reckoned with.
